Hey, check out my new role! 🎉 I’ve decided to step back from executive life to get hands-on again. I’ll be leading a new team at Klue whose mission will be to capitalize on our recent acquisition of DoubleCheck Research. 🤘🚀 Klue’s platform + DoubleCheck’s Win-Loss analysis = 🔥🔥
Besides being a great fit with my background in building software for market research, I expect this change to recharge the batteries for me personally. I’ve been happiest at work when having a hand in the design, coding and operation of the software we build. Conversely I can burn myself out on the management side of the job, especially when lacking deep familiarity with the systems our teams own. This will be the third time in my career I’ve shifted my focus back to building in some form. While I inevitably end up drifting back into more management heavy roles, I’m excited about resharpening my skills in the meantime and delivering value to our customers.
Massive thanks to Jason Smith + Sarathy Naicker for creating a culture at Klue where career moves like this are both possible and celebrated. From the first somewhat vulnerable chat with Jason about what I needed, to the support I’ve received from the broader team, Klue continues to demonstrate (not just talk) our values. It can be hard to see the path at times, and moves like this don’t happen without a trusting and candid environment.
