AWS to Klue
Leaving AWS wasn’t an easy decision for me (thanks again everyone at AWS Thinkbox). I’ve been watching/cheering on Klue for a few years though, and having worked with co-founder Jason Smith I had a huge amount of trust in his vision and leadership. That said, I think it took seeing Klue “in person” before knowing just how right this decision was.
Today marks two weeks since joining, and any doubts were erased pretty much from day one. The #culture at Klue is exactly as advertised. A high degree of transparency and trust translates into fast decision making, tons of accountability from everyone, and teams that go out of their way to help each other win at every level. The onboarding process, right from early team interviews, to the thoughtfully written offer, to immersive cross team training all worked well to set the tone and accelerate ramp up. In the interview process Klue’s other co-founder Sarathy Naicker did a great job of selling me on the technology and its potential (we’re solving some super interesting problems at scale), and his vision for what’s to come was a part of my decision to join. I didn’t really grasp the enormity of the opportunity for Klue though until seeing our customers firsthand, how they leverage the platform today, and what they need from us next. We’re helping their marketing and sales teams compete in ways that weren’t possible even a few years ago. But the 🚀 level of success we’re having in enabling revenue teams is just the start of what a leading competitive enablement platform gives the broader organization. Add to that the reality that everyone has competitors and it’s pretty easy to get excited about the future.
Opportunities to play a part in defining entire categories don’t come along everyday in our software careers. I’m super excited to have joined this talented, highly motivated and growing team and am looking forward to some challenging/exciting next steps as we scale and accelerate delivery in engineering @ Klue.
